an original classical Suzhou-style private garden seen from a covered walkway: a covered corridor with dark red timber columns, a grey tile roof and low built-in wooden bench railings running along the right edge, a whitewashed garden wall on the right pierced by ornamental leak windows with grey tile lattice, a pond with taihu rocks and lotus leaves along the left edge, a small hexagonal pavilion with upturned eaves standing on rocks across the pond at the far side, bamboo and a pine behind it, a grey brick-paved terrace where the corridor opens out, and an empty patch of paving in the centre about four metres from the camera
