a 1540s English Tudor men's ensemble: a cream satin doublet with a low square front and slashed sleeves showing puffs of red silk, under a sleeveless black velvet jerkin whose pleated skirts flare to mid-thigh and close at the front, all under an open knee-length black wool over-gown with very broad shoulders built up by puffed short over-sleeves and a wide brown sable fur collar falling over the shoulders and down the fronts; fitted black hose on the legs and broad square-toed flat black leather shoes
